5-week Improvisation Group

200.00

Saturday Feb. 17, 24, March 3, 10, 24

A workshop with Guy Nelson, author of Creative Thinking, Creative Play: Using Improvisational Games To Transform People, Classrooms and Organizations, who is coming from Seattle to spend a week in NY, tell a story in (mostly) TRUE THINGS and meet with Long Island improvisers is included in the price of this series. The date of this workshop is TBD but will be a week-end date in the spring. He is a wonderful improviser, trainer, and writer and is an NPR contributor in Seattle.

This 5-week improvisation group will be a jump into improvisation games and exercises focused on exploring the fundamental principles of agreement, commitment, spontaneity and listening. The emphasis will be on building a strong foundation of confidence and creativity as an improviser. We will use exercises that strengthen the ability to follow the creative impulse, connect with partners, and communicate ideas with generosity and emotional connection, the skills that produce great improvisation. The spontaneity and positive energy generated by improv experiences have many benefits but first and foremost, it is a way to collaborate with other people while having so. much. fun.

Instructor: Jude Treder-Wolff, with guest instructor Guy Nelson
