Change is constant, and we never know what is right around the corner. The knowledge and skills for facing what is unfamiliar and coping with the stresses of navigating the new provide a foundation for managing its stresses and challenges. Applied Improvisation provides a fun, positive framework for developing a way of thinking and relating to others that is creative, expansive and embracing of the new. It is beautifully aligned with the concepts of Positive Psychology which can provide clients with a relatable and rewarding frame through which to view and respond to stress, to rethink what it means to "gift" self and others and learn science-driven approaches to strengthening resilience. Clinicians can learn a framework for looking at the stresses and ambivalence that can accompany the change process and skills for developing greater spontaneity, agility and creativity in response to clients’ needs.
